Caption:
Bony masses consist of keratinized, stratified squamous epithelium over thick, dense connective tissue. Deep to the dense connective tissue is a loosely organized layer of fibroblasts that interdigitate with spicules of immature bone. The immature bone is admixed with mature fibrous connective tissue, blood vessels and islands of large osteoclasts. Mature trabecular bone is admixed with immature bone in the deepest layers.
